One insurer pulls the Islip average down: Progressive’s full-coverage average for our driver is about $108 a month here. Without Progressive, the other four insurers in our data average about $376 a month, compared with $322 with it.

Full coverage in the Town of Islip averages $3,865 a year, or about $322 a month, for our benchmark driver. Liability-only coverage at 25/50/10 limits averages $2,166 a year ($181 a month), and 50/100/50 liability with comprehensive and collision averages $3,634 ($303 a month).

Hauppauge (11788) is split between Islip and Smithtown, and Ronkonkoma (11779) between Islip and Brookhaven, so we leave both out of the town average; they average about $312 and $297 a month. Your ZIP code matters
Raising liability limits from 50/100/50 to 100/300/100 adds about $231 a year in our Islip data, with the same $500 deductibles. That’s about $19 a month for three times the injury protection per crash and double the property damage limit.
It depends on the insurer. Comparing the same insurers in the same Islip ZIP codes, full coverage averaged $3,911 a year in rates as of Nov. 30, 2025 and $3,865 as of Aug. 31, 2026, a 1.2% drop, but only because Progressive cut its Islip average 21.9%. The other four insurers’ average rose 0.7%, led by Travelers, up 6.9%. Liability-only coverage at 25/50/10 limits fell 3.9%.
Suffolk County averages $3,608 a year for full coverage in our data, and the Town of Islip runs a little above it. Bay Shore and Central Islip cost the most, at about $359 and $369 a month.
The eastern communities cost less: Sayville and Bayport both average about $294 a month and Holbrook $297.
