Raising liability limits from 50/100/50 to 100/300/100 barely changes the average in our Columbus data: with the same $500 deductibles, full coverage averages $2,020 a year and 50/100/50 averages $2,026. The full-coverage package doubles the per-person injury limit, triples the per-crash limit and doubles the property damage limit, and it raises uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage to 100/300. Allstate and Auto-Owners charge less for 100/300/100 than for 50/100/50 for our benchmark driver.
Slightly, for our benchmark driver. Comparing the same insurers in the same Columbus ZIP codes, full coverage averaged $2,005 a year in rates as of Nov. 30, 2025, and $2,020 as of Aug. 31, 2026, a 0.7% increase. Progressive cut its Columbus average 2.2%, while Indiana Farm Bureau raised its average 4.1%; Allstate’s and Auto-Owners’ averages were about unchanged. State Farm’s latest rates are from November 2025, so it’s left out of this comparison. Liability-only coverage at 25/50/10 limits was about unchanged.
Bartholomew County averages about $168 a month for full coverage, the 61st-most expensive of the 86 Indiana counties we price.
Seymour, to the south in Jackson County, averages about $171 a month and Edinburgh, to the north, $166. Indiana insurers price by location as well as by driver and car, so your ZIP code can move your price.

Insurers must file their rates and rating rules with each state’s insurance regulator. Quadrant Information Services uses those filings to calculate what each insurer would charge a specific driver, and InsuranceQuotes analyzes those prices. This page uses rates in effect on Aug. 31, 2026.
Coverage requirements come from Indiana law and the Indiana Department of Insurance. We refresh these figures when new rate data is released.

It depends on the coverage. For full coverage, averages in Columbus run from about $99 to $232 a month across the four insurers we price, and the gap between the two lowest is too wide for us to call one insurer the cheapest.
