Full coverage in Vancouver averages $3,041 a year, or about $253 a month, for our benchmark driver. Liability-only coverage at Washington’s 25/50/10 minimum averages $1,167 a year ($97 a month), and 50/100/50 liability with comprehensive and collision averages $2,911 ($243 a month).
Safeco is far more expensive than the other insurers here: its full-coverage average of about $442 a month is 2.1 times the average of the other five. We keep it in our averages because it’s a rate the insurer filed with state regulators; without Safeco, the Vancouver average would be about $216 a month.
State Farm has the lowest full-coverage average among the six insurers in our Vancouver rate data. USAA, American Family, Travelers and Farmers aren’t in the Quadrant rate data we analyze, so their rows in the table are estimates. Among the published 2026 statewide Washington rate studies we reviewed, GEICO ranks cheapest for full coverage most often, apart from USAA, which sells only to military families; others put American Family, Oregon Mutual or Mutual of Enumclaw first. For liability-only coverage at 25/50/10 limits, State Farm has the lowest average among the insurers we price, at about $71 a month, with GEICO close behind at $77.

Raising liability limits from 50/100/50 to 100/300/100 adds about $130 a year on average in our Vancouver data, with the same $500 deductibles. That’s about $11 a month for double the per-person injury limit, three times the per-crash limit and double the property damage limit, and the full-coverage package also raises uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage to 100/300.
Not for our benchmark driver. Comparing the five insurers that are in both sets of rates, in the same Vancouver ZIP codes, their full-coverage average fell from $3,274 a year in rates as of Nov. 30, 2025, to $3,214 as of Aug. 31, 2026, a 1.8% drop. State Farm cut its Vancouver average 9.0% and Progressive 5.4%, while PEMCO raised its average 1.0%, and Allstate and Safeco didn’t change theirs. GEICO isn’t in the November 2025 rates, so it’s left out, which is why these averages differ from the Vancouver average above. Liability-only coverage at 25/50/10 limits rose 6.8%, led by Progressive, which raised its liability-only average 33.0%.
Clark County averages about $250 a month for full coverage in our data, the fourth-most expensive of the 33 Washington counties we price. Nearby towns cost a little less: Camas averages about $240 a month, Ridgefield $241, Washougal $241 and Battle Ground $250.
Vancouver sits across the Columbia River from Portland, Oregon, but cars kept here are priced under Washington’s rules. Washington law lets insurers base rates on where you keep your car, so prices can change from one ZIP code to the next.
More Washington cities and towns are in the Washington rates by city table, and you can compare states on our car insurance rates by state page.
Seattle averages $292 a month, Tacoma $305 and Spokane $238. Oregon’s statewide average in our data is about $173 a month.
Drivers in Vancouver follow Washington’s rules. Every policy must include at least:
Insurers must also include underinsured motorist coverage, which in Washington covers uninsured and hit-and-run drivers too, and personal injury protection, unless you reject them in writing. Our Washington requirements guide covers the details and the penalties for driving uninsured.

Insurers must file their rates and rating rules with each state’s insurance regulator. Quadrant Information Services uses those filings to calculate what each insurer would charge a specific driver, and InsuranceQuotes analyzes those prices. This page uses rates in effect on Aug. 31, 2026.
Coverage requirements come from Washington law and the Washington Office of the Insurance Commissioner. We refresh these figures when new rate data is released.
