Raising liability limits from 50/100/50 to 100/300/100 adds about $582 a year on average in our Hialeah data, with the same $500 deductibles. That’s about $49 a month for double the per-person injury limit, three times the per-crash limit and double the property damage limit, and the full-coverage package also raises uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage to 100/300.
Not for our benchmark driver. Comparing the three insurers that are in both sets of rates, in the same Hialeah ZIP codes, their full-coverage average fell from $6,299 a year in rates as of Nov. 30, 2025, to $5,599 as of Aug. 31, 2026, an 11.1% drop. Progressive cut its Hialeah average 17.3%, Allstate 5.0% and GEICO 2.7%. Travelers is new in our rates since November 2025, so it’s left out, which is why these averages differ from the Hialeah average above. State Farm’s latest rates are from November 2025, so it’s left out of this comparison. Liability-only coverage at 15/30/10 limits fell 11.3%, led by Progressive, which cut its liability-only average 16.3%.
Miami-Dade County averages about $411 a month for full coverage, the second-most expensive of the 66 Florida counties we price, after Palm Beach County. Around Hialeah, Miami Gardens and Opa-locka, to the north, average about $435 and $428 a month, while Homestead, far to the southwest, averages $414. Florida insurers price by location as well as by driver and car, so your ZIP code can move your price.
GEICO is the insurer to watch here. It has the lowest full-coverage average in Hialeah, about $260 a month, while Travelers, which has the lowest average in 24 of our 26 Florida city guides, averages $305. Progressive’s Hialeah average is about $692.

Drivers in Hialeah follow Florida’s rules. Every vehicle registered in Florida must carry at least:
Bodily injury liability isn’t required for most Florida drivers. You need it after certain at-fault injury crashes, at 10/20 with an SR-22 filing for three years, according to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, or after a DUI conviction, at 100/300/50 with an FR-44 filing for at least three years, under Florida Statutes section 324.023. Uninsured motorist coverage comes with any bodily injury liability policy unless you reject it in writing, under section 627.727.
Florida’s no-fault law is still in place. The 2026 bills that would have repealed it, S.B. 522 and H.B. 769, died in committee on March 13, 2026. Our Florida requirements guide covers the no-fault rules and the penalties for letting coverage lapse.

Insurers must file their rates and rating rules with each state’s insurance regulator. Quadrant Information Services uses those filings to calculate what each insurer would charge a specific driver, and InsuranceQuotes analyzes those prices. This page uses rates in effect on Aug. 31, 2026.
Coverage requirements come from Florida law and the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. We refresh these figures when new rate data is released.
